Dr. Joshua Hays, MD
About
Dr. Hays is a board-certified, fellowship-trained hair transplant surgeon practicing in the downtown Austin area. He is an Austin native who grew up in the Zilker neighborhood and attended Austin High School. He stayed local for his undergraduate studies, earning a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin.
He then received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Following his residency, Dr. Hays completed a specialized, ISHRS hair transplant fellowship at the Physicians Hair Restoration Center in Houston and Chicago.
Dr. Hays has extensive experience in scalp and beard transplants, as well as managing complex cases. He specializes in handling poor-quality donor areas, correcting prior surgeries, and harvesting non-scalp donor areas (such as beard and facial hair) when needed.
Believing that consistent, high-quality results require a physician's direct touch, Dr. Hays is personally involved in your surgery from start to finish. He personally performs both the hair harvesting and the creation of the recipient sites.
Having manually transplanted over 500,000 hairs, Dr. Hays is dedicated to delivering natural-looking, life-changing results for his patients.
